In Planet Calypso you are a colonist on this planet in the Entropia Universe where you must rebuild after robot wars. A unique feature to this MMORPG game is that you can add real money if you would like (possibly ending up making money). This makes it easier to develop communities and businesses, but you can also develop skills (over 150 available) like event management, beauty and craftsmanship to eventually earn money. This is called a "sandbox" game because the players are able to choose their own path, basically creating their own story. The social media is outstanding with a source for any information you may need (Entropedia), and Mindstar Media that makes news reports as if the Entropian Universe was real. After coming online in 2003, 950,000 players have registered in over 200 different countries.
This distant Alien planet is 1,500 square kilometers, plenty big enough to buy yourself a huge chunk of land (if you have the money for it). Along with creating this colonization, you can fight robots, hunt wild animals, mine, or explore this very strange land. This makes the game a lot more fun and interesting, but it is also like a businessman's paradise because you can earn more real cash by buying land and real estate (among other things) that will earn revenue.
